Demian Bichir

Demian Bichir is a Mexican film and television actor. From a family of artists, it could be said that he took his very first steps as an infant already on the stage. His father is actor and director Alejandro Bichir, and his mother is the actress Maricruz Nájera. His brothers Odiseo and Bruno Bichir are also actors. Over his career, he has brought magnificent roles to life and gained recognition in the USA for his role in the series Weeds (2005-2012). But without a doubt his leap to fame came when he played Fidel Castro in the films Che, El Argentino (2008) and Che: Guerrilla (2008) directed by the renowned director Steven Soderbergh. In January of 2012 he was nominated for an Oscar as best actor for his lead role in the dramatic film A Better Life (2011) by director Chris Weitz, in which he played Carlos Galindo, a Mexican immigrant in the USA. In 2013 he played the lead role alongside actress Diane Kruger (Inglourious Basterds) in the series The Bridge.
